My beautiful red-headed daughter

My daughter Rebecca has been living in Buenos Aires since January 2008. Until yesterday, she worked in a marketing company's office, using her English with the American clients and Spanish with the rest of the staff. She was able to call home for free which, to her parents, was the great advantage of the job. Rebecca chose to live in Argentina because she loves to party, shop and socialize and she could do all that inexpensively in Buenos Aires. She is about to start traveling around the South American continent with her friend Durban. My husband and I are going to meet them in Brazil in October. I can't wait to give her a big hug!

RSS Comes, RSS Goes

I added way too many RSS feeds, decided I didn't need any of them, deleted them all. I'm relieved that I was able to perform both procedures.

Nous aidons aux voisins de la bibliothèque

We go to extraordinary measures here at North Branch to help our Central Street neighbors. The Spice House called and requested help with a French-speaking customer who was on the phone. I ran down the block and spoke with a baker in Montreal! Now spicy perfume follows me wherever I go.

Color in Motion

A friend is making a quilt for us. As soon as I learn how to put the picture of this work in progress on the blog, I will include it here.

UPDATE

It was too compicated to move it from my email but Kate did it for me.

We're not going to have so much yellow in the final quilt.

Winging around the World

The blog, The Guiding Light, belongs to my son, Josh. He is a birding tour guide out of South Africa for Tropicalbirding.com. He comments on some of his guided trips and also some of the trips he's taken as a birder. My favorite posting of his is from Monday, December 23, in which he sums up his travels from the previous year. He's fortunate to have a passion that translates into a job.

Has Gallup been reading my blog?

Last night, I was the only adult over 18 at home when Gallup Poll of Nebraska called. I LOVE answering questionnaires. Please ask me my opinion! One of the questions was, "Do you smile a lot?". I should have directed them to About Me on my blog!

Kicking and Screaming

Easy to guess which Habit will be the hardest for me-technology changes terrify me. I am working on looking at it as a challenge and not something that will make my hair greyer than it already is.
